OVERVIEW
The late Kwabena Pepera, founder of PHC Motors entered into share purchaser negotiations with the
majority shareholders of Leyland Motors of Einhover, Holland. These
negotiations were successful and by 1993 the late Kwabena Pepera had acquired majority shares in the company which was renamed PHC Motors Limited. The company was
one of the few motor companies in Ghana to be solely owned and operated by
Ghanaians at the time.
Kwabena was one of the giants of Ghana's post-colonial private sector industrial development and served on several boards of state and financial institutions, including the National Investment Bank (NIB). He was one of the founding fathers and initial shareholders of Ecobank Ghana.
