OVERVIEW

Frank Owusu Sekyere is the founder of Baron Distilleries Limited. The company manufactures distilled and blended liquors and is the third-largest alcoholic beverage manufacturer in Ghana. Frank established the company in 1995 and currently employs over 220 workers. Baron Distilleries began operations under the name Baronanza Enterprises as a small manufacturing entity producing one product: Baron’s Lime Juice. The lime juice was developed by Frank Sekyere, who had a background in chemistry.

Frank started this business soon after completing his college education. The company was situated in a small wooden structure at the Airport Residential Area, a suburb of Accra. Within a year, Frank had developed four additional products and in 1998 the company was incorporated as a limited liability company with Frank as sole owner. In 2000, the company moved into its current premises and has been operating there ever since.

Frank also owns the Baron Water House Limited, which manufactures purified water under the brand names ICE DROP and ICE PAK mineral water.
